This class helped me realize how much compassion there is within me to want to go help those who suffer from chronic pain, knowing first hand the hopelessness of having to live in constant pain and knowing how little western medicine does that can help us. Also having had 3 family members in hospice and seeing the effect of the morphine not only in them, but how it robbed us from those precious last moments of connection and saying goodbye.
