From the article in The Vancouver Sun...

Angela Woods has recently found hypnotherapy helps with her Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a hereditary disorder that can cause joint pain. She says it took one session, along with recordings, to bring relief.

Over the years, Angela Woods has tried "just about everything" to manage the pain caused by Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

The retired commercial radio inspector has tried physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, prolotherapy, an osteopath, and pharmaceutical painkillers.

"I try not to make this the focus of my life – that's a really poor hobby," Woods said of the genetic disorder. "Once a year or so I try to rethink what I'm doing and see if there's anything I can do myself to make it better."

She happened to be "in one of those spells" of helping herself when she thought of hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis Showing Promise for the Treatment of Postmenopausal Hot Flashes

From the article in the Doctors Health Press...

Many women decide to treat menopausal symptoms with natural remedies to see if they can improve the quality of their lives. With that in mind, here is one treatment for hot flashes that hasn’t gained widespread attention in the medical media – but perhaps it should. This is a natural remedy for hot flashes that you need to know about – and it’s all about hypnosis.

A combined team of researchers from Indiana University and the University of Texas recently conducted a study to look at the effectiveness of hypnosis to reduce hot flashes. This could be a really exciting natural remedy for hot flashes. 187 postmenopausal women were recruited for the trial. These women were having upwards of seven hot flashes per day or 50 per week. The researchers divided the participants into two groups. One group was given 45-minute weekly sessions of clinical hypnosis along with training in self-hypnosis. The other group acted as control and received “structured attention” in the form of an audio recording that offered up general information about hot flashes.

The researchers then measured the frequency and severity of hot flashes over the course of 12 weeks. How much did the hypnosis sessions help? This natural remedy for hot flashes worked: hot flash frequency dropped by almost 75%! The researchers also recorded an improvement in sleep quality for the hypnosis group.

HypnoThoughts Live

I don't know how many of you know about a new hypnosis conference happening this year. Most of you have heard of HypnoThoughts.com, the completely free hypnosis resource with over 12,000 members and a million insights.

Have you heard that HypnoThoughts is going to hold it's first live event this summer in Las Vegas? It's called HypnoThoughts Live and it's happening...

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 14, 15, 16, 2013

There are a lot of hypnosis conferences every year for you to choose from. Amazingly, most people don't really think about what they are choosing. They go where they've gone before or they attend the conference closest to them. This year, I'd like you to really think about where you are spending your money and what you are getting in return.

HypnoThoughts is doing things a little differently than some of the other great conferences. It's going to cost about half the price of most conferences and include multiple free meals. There are no awards, just great people sharing unique topics. There will be a few HMI/AHA Instructors there as well as a booth where we can answer any questions you may have.

These won't be the same topics and lectures you've heard before. These won't be the same instructors teaching you the same techniques again. This is an opportunity to see something different. From clinical interventions to street hypnosis, there's nothing out of bounds because this conference is about learning from everyone.

I'm really excited about what will be shared at HypnoThoughts Live in-between lectures. With all the big names and personalities all under one roof, there will be a buzz in the air.

We're looking forward to this conference. It's an amazing value, a special experience, and a great idea that's time has come. We hope to see you in Vegas. Stop by the HMI/AHA Booth while you are there and say hello.
