Biography for Denise Mailey Delahoussaye, MA, CHt
My experience of working with people who have special needs for the past 24 years, as well as my training and work in the field of mental health counseling for the past 22 years, has taught me that despite the significance of psychology and psychiatry as resources, not every circumstance calls for extensive talk therapy. After exhausting all possible medical interventions, I realized that physical disorders can still exist.
My search for efficient methods to deal with these predicaments and circumstances brought me to investigate hypnotherapy as an option. Anxiety, phobias, letting go of bad habits like smoking or nail biting, increasing self-awareness, and managing chronic pain are just some of the issues that cognitive and clinical hypnotherapy can help with. It can also be used as an adjunct to psychological or medical treatment to achieve better results.
Because of the nature of my work as a Cognitive and Clinical Hypnotherapist, I must constantly be on the lookout for new information, take part in educational events that help me refine my abilities, and devise creative treatment strategies. My job is never tedious since I am always learning new things, and I interact with different people daily.
