Biography for Devi Venkateswaran, CHt

As a Certified Hypnotherapist, I offer a supportive space where you can explore patterns that may be holding you back and work toward meaningful, lasting change. My approach combines guided hypnosis with reflective work to help you align your thoughts, habits, and intentions in a more integrated way. Each session is designed to help you reduce internal resistance, build clarity, and move more consistently toward the changes you want to make—at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

With a PhD in Biology, I spent over a decade as a researcher focused on disease mechanisms and human health. My work was driven by a consistent interest in understanding the factors that contribute to suffering and how well-being can be supported. Over time, my focus expanded beyond purely physiological models of health to include the role of cognition, stress physiology, and behavioral patterns in shaping lived experience. This led me to further training in hypnotherapy and applied approaches to working with subconscious processes.

In my practice, I use hypnotherapy as a structured, evidence-informed tool to support relaxation, attention regulation, and cognitive-behavioral change. Sessions are designed to help clients identify and modify unhelpful patterns, strengthen adaptive responses, and improve alignment between goals and behavior. My work is grounded in a scientific understanding of the mind–body connection and focused on practical, measurable changes that support improved functioning and well-being.

I’d be happy to help you discover what hypnotherapy can do for you. If you have any questions, I welcome you to book a free alignment call via my website booking or send me an email to connect.

Experience

Through my education and experience, I use hypnosis as a structured method to support cognitive and behavioral change. My practice is informed by a background in biological research, which has shaped my interest in the interaction between physiology, cognition, and behavior.

I apply hypnotherapy techniques to help clients address patterns such as stress reactivity, anxiety-related thought loops, habit change, and emotional regulation. Sessions typically involve guided relaxation, focused attention, and therapeutic suggestion work designed to support increased self-awareness and improved psychological flexibility.

My approach emphasizes safety, collaboration, and evidence-informed practice. I integrate principles from neuroscience, learning theory, and cognitive-behavioral frameworks to support clients in identifying and modifying unhelpful automatic patterns and strengthening adaptive responses.

Over time, I have worked with clients seeking support in areas such as stress management, confidence building, behavioral change, and performance-related challenges. My goal is to provide a structured and supportive environment that facilitates measurable and sustainable change.
