Biography for Lora Hnat, AMFT

Lora Hnat

Lora has always felt called to help others. Over the last 25 years, she has studied many mind and body healing modalities such as Music Therapy, Guided Imagery, Reiki, and Integrated Energy Therapy (IET).

Lora holds a masters degree in Counseling and a bachelors degree in Music Therapy. She currently works as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 124905) under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Bar (LMFT 21166). She weaves all of the knowledge and experience that she has gained into a uniquely transformative experience for her clients.

Lora works with her clients both systematically and intuitively. Her formal education allows her to work from a scientific perspective, using evidence-based practices to help her clients to understand and to resolve their issues. She combines these learned skills with her natural intuition and empathy to create sessions that are tailored to the needs of each client.

She is a guide who supports her clients as they find the answers they are seeking. There is nothing she enjoys more than witnessing a client experience that “a-ha!” moment as they discover solutions and bring their subconscious beliefs into line with their conscious mind to create a life that supports their desires.

Lora is currently accepting new telehealth clients who are located in California.

Experience

Lora works from a trauma-informed perspective to create a safe, nurturing, warm environment for clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, and trauma from childhood neglect and/or abuse.

She specializes in working with adults who feel stuck in patterns that are preventing them from moving forward in life. Lora helps her clients to identify and process the stories that they tell themselves about who they are and about what they are capable of achieving. She believes that every behavior has a reason driving it and that reason is usually an unmet need.

Using a mixture of talk therapy, imagery, and hypnotherapy, Lora can help you to learn self-compassion and to nurture the parts of you that are hurting and need to be heard and healed.
