Biography for Mariamawit Girma Gobezie, CCHt

I have always been drawn to what remains unspoken. My professional path began in France, where I earned my Diploma in Fashion Design with distinction in a country renowned for its tradition of excellence and innovation in couture and design. I worked as a fashion designer for over 15 years, immersed in a culture where beauty was both language and legacy. Each garment became an expression of identity, transformation, and longing. In shaping color, texture, and silhouette, I was already in dialogue with the subconscious, translating emotions into form long before I named the practice.

Life later led me into nearly two decades of service in funeral care, where I stood with families during some of life’s most profound moments of transition. There, silence often spoke louder than words. Human experience revealed itself through posture, breath, gesture, and the spaces between sentences. It was here that I came to see mortality not as an end, but as a mirror reflecting meaning, perspective, and the essential question of how we choose to live. These two worlds “beauty and mortality” laid the foundation for the work that followed.

Today, my background in Mind-Body Psychology, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Qigong provides a framework for understanding many of the patterns I had observed throughout my life and career. Together, they deepened my understanding of the relationship between conscious and unconscious processes, perception and behavior, identity and change. This brought into focus the ways people construct meaning from experience, the narratives they carry, and the often unseen influences that shape decisions, relationships, and transformation.

As a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, I work with individuals navigating periods of uncertainty, inner conflict, self-doubt, and significant life transitions. My approach is grounded in careful observation, deep listening, and respect for the complexity of human experience. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work with individuals to better understand the underlying patterns, beliefs, perceptions, and experiences that shape their responses, relationships, and sense of self.

Over the years, I have come to recognize that beneath our different stories, many of us wrestle with similar questions: Who am I now? What am I holding onto? What am I becoming? Meaningful change rarely begins with force. More often, it begins when what has remained unseen, unheard, or unspoken is finally acknowledged. It is within those spaces that some of the most meaningful work can occur.

In the end, my work is guided by a simple truth: We do not control the length of our lives, but we can choose the depth with which we live them and in that depth lies the medicine of transformation and renewal.

Experience

Healing is part of our shared humanity. Across cultures and traditions, it is expressed in different ways, through silence, through story, through the body itself. I have come to see that transformation is not owned by any belief system; it arises from the human capacity to adapt, to endure, and to rediscover meaning. My work is grounded in this principle, meeting each person as they are, with respect for both their individuality and their cultural roots.

I was fortunate to receive my training at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, one of the top hypnotherapy schools in the world. This education refined my skills and instilled rigorous academic and professional standards. Alongside this, I hold certification in advanced handwriting analysis, a discipline that reveals subconscious patterns expressed in even the smallest gestures.

My expertise spans a wide spectrum of hypnotherapy modalities, including NLP, dream therapy, therapeutic imagery, emotional freedom technique (EFT), subconscious transformation methods, and applied mind-body practices. These approaches allow me to address emotional, behavioral, health, performance, and personal growth concerns in ways that adapt to each individual, rather than forcing them into a single framework.

My perspective has been shaped by decades in fields that required attunement to what is unseen: fashion design, where I learned to give form to emotion, and funeral service, where I witnessed how silence and presence can hold what words cannot. These experiences deepen my ability to meet clients with clarity, compassion, and respect, while guiding them toward their own capacity for renewal and transformation.
