Biography for Michael A. Kamins, MA, LMFT, CCHt

Michael A. Kamins is a Certified Hypnotherapist and licensed Marriage Family Therapist. He has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. Michael uses hypnosis to gently adjust subconscious behavior and utilize the holistic resources of the unconscious psyche.

Michael graduated with Honors from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI) in 2007 where he worked as a hypnosis educator for HMI's Distance Learning department and taught promotional HMI classes on Guided Imagery and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), an advanced method of hypnotherapy. Certified at the Master level by the American Hypnosis Association and NLP TransWorld Michael was an assistant NLP Trainer for Practitioner and Master Practitioner trainings. Michael is currently seeing private hypnotherapy clients at both the HMI Clinic in Tarzana and at offices in Hollywood, California.

Michael was educated at the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California and awarded a Master of Arts Degree with Academic Honors in Counseling Psychology. Michael's graduate program emphasized theory and practice of Depth Psychology which examines the unconscious and expressions of the psyche in dreams and art therapy. With a background in literary arts and music, Michael has personal experience with these creative and imaginal approaches to therapy.

As a Depth Psychologist, Michael's practice of hypnotherapy is unique as he considers the unconscious to be what psychiatrist C.G. Jung called the "primary matrix" – the vital source of consciousness itself and a reservoir of personal and transpersonal resources. Hypnotherapy is a highly effective and reliable method to tap this matrix of potential.

Many of the subconscious behavioral issues for which we need hypnotherapy are often the result of losing this connection to the unconscious psyche. This connection may be blocked by an unhealthy habit, a negative emotion, or a limiting belief about the self or the world; conversely, such subconscious problems typically form where connection with the deeper psyche has been blocked. Hypnotherapy is a safe and powerful method for removing these subconscious blocks and activating the natural healing and transformative processes of the unconscious.

Michael's unique and innovative method of using hypnotherapy as an applied Depth Psychology is a potent synergistic tool for induced "mind change" and it is recommended for those seeking desired subconscious behavioral change or actualizing unconscious creativity.
