Biography for Stuart Hellebrand, CHt

My experience as a hypnotist began in 1965; however, it was in 1967 when I began teaching self-hypnosis classes at California State University Northridge. In the field of hypnotherapy, I maintain a private practice. As well, I have worked in a regional medical center’s Craniofacial Pain Clinic, as a Senior Clinical Instructor, and have taught hypnotherapy subject matter classes to licensed therapists at CSUN and throughout California.

My areas of specialization include, but are not limited to stress management, sleep improvement, self-esteem building, test taking anxiety, goal(s) oriented self-improvement, fears and phobias, athletic performance enhancement, personal fitness motivation, smoking cessation, and dental, medical, and psychological hypnotherapy by referral. Additionally, I teach self-hypnosis to each client, as an empowerment tool to self-manage many of life's common issues.

My practice serves the residents of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, and Coachella. Additionally, by way of Zoom, I am available to work with distance clients throughout the United States. In this regard, I have worked with clients from as far away as New York, Oregon, and Illinois. Internationally, I have worked with clients in Canada, England, and Germany. It is important for you to note that I use a HIPAA compliant version of Zoom to protect the confidentiality of my clients.

In California, my service area for teaching has ranged from San Francisco to San Diego. Additionally, again by way of Skype, I have trained licensed therapists from as far away as Chicago, Illinois.

Experience

My professional background and ongoing work experience is extensive. For 32 years, I worked in counseling and treatment programs through employment with Los Angeles County. In addition to being in private practice, I am a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Craniofacial Pain Clinic at White Memorial Medical Center. I also teach a continuing education classes to licensed therapist. My continuing education workshops have been approved for credit by California's Board of Behavioral Sciences and the American Psychological Association.

40% of my clients are medical referrals, dental referrals, and referrals from a broad range of licensed therapists. My work at White Memorial Medical Center has involved teaching self-hypnosis techniques and otherwise working with medical referrals who suffer with chronic pain.

My decades of experience and training in counseling and hypnotherapy, the fact that I am qualified to work as a hypnotherapist in a regional medical center’s craniofacial pain clinic, and the fact that I have the ability, background, and knowledge to be an educator of licensed therapists speaks volumes about my ability to help you achieve your goals.
