Client: Anastasia - Session 2 of 6
Presenting Issues: Self Esteem
Description: Anastasia is noticing her angry self talk and realizes she is projecting feelings of shame from her mother. Tanya helps her identifying what success looks like to her. She did well in her acting class but when her teacher complimented her, she didn’t do well the next time through. The first time she performed she felt that she was in her body and comfortable in character whereas the second time she felt outside of herself. This happened when she found herself comparing herself to another student and then sabotaged her performance.
On a positive note, she is sleeping better.
Anastasia felt that she had overshared about her mother’s expectations and felt guilty. She did say that it brought awareness to how the dynamics of her childhood may be affecting her ability to achieve success presently.
Anastasis is becoming aware of her anger. She feels that her career is not moving fast enough and that she is not reaching certain milestones that she wanted to accomplish by this point. She felt that she didn’t have a typical childhood and compensated by taking care of her mother - wanting to measure up because she understood at a young age the sacrifices her mother was making to further her career.
