Hypnotherapy Live - John Melton/Genevieve - Trypophobia - Fear of Seeing Small Holes - Session 5 of 6
Presented By: John Melton
Hypnotherapist: John Melton, C.Ht.
Client: Genevieve - Session 5 of 6
Presenting Issues: Trypophobia - Fear of Seeing Small Holes
Description: Genevieve’s anxiety response to the holes has reduced from 2/10 the prior session to 1.5/10. She is encouraging herself to look at the holes now, which make her laugh.
Genevieve had a dream where she was enjoying herself at a slot machine in a Vegas casino. In real life, she typically dislikes casinos. John relates this to her finding it amusing to look at the holes when she normally would not have enjoyed this. She has been having fewer dreams with an emotional charge, which John states is normal as fears calm down.
Her diet is improving, eating mostly carrots and cucumbers rather than a sweet snack. She did give into a chocolate craving and would like to continue diminishing such cravings. Her quality of sleep has improved from a 5/10 her first session to an 8/10.
She continues to use her tools of breathing and her mantra of “calm, relax, peace,” and is noticing an emotional shift taking place more quickly after using these tools. She has noticed an improvement in her temper and noise sensitivity.
Techniques Used: John guides her through deep breathing for calm and relaxation while visualizing the calming space of her room. While taking her through a progressive relaxation, he suggests that she chooses and likes change. She visualizes herself, peaceful and free of fears, at the bottom of the staircase. After descending the staircase, she merges with this self. He suggests that she is now in control and choosing to be healthier.
Then, he suggests that she will simply stop focusing on these holes as they become unimportant. He reinforces that she will have restful sleep and continue to vent out her exaggerated fear response in her dreams.
