Practice Builders Episode 100 - George Kappas, HMI Director
Presented By: George Kappas, MA, LMFT
A lasting hypnotherapy practice requires continued growth beyond graduation. For the 100th episode of Practice Builders Power Hour, Guest Speaker George Kappas joins Melissa Echelberger and Stephanie McCray as they celebrate his 50 years at HMI and explore the commitment behind a lifetime of teaching and service.
George describes integrity as a spiritual practice that needs attention every day, much like making your bed or cleaning your home. Education alone does not settle that work. He encourages graduates to invest in personal hypnotherapy and ongoing mentorship with experienced practitioners, combining work on themselves with guidance for their client work.
He also shares a practical change that strengthened his own Mental Bank routine: a buddy group whose members text one another after completing their nightly entries. That simple accountability helped him move from stopping and starting to sustained practice. His enthusiasm for Mental Bank, E&P, and Theory of Mind reflects a continuing mission to bring Dr. Kappas’s ideas to a wider audience.
For practitioners, these reflections connect professional growth with daily follow-through. George’s message is to keep investing in yourself and turn the resources available through HMI into actions that support your practice.
For this week’s challenge, George invites you to print the updated Director’s Award requirements and tape them to your mirror. Each morning, ask yourself which step you are working on that week. The hosts direct listeners to the updated list in the 301-15 marketing workbook.
Take this week’s challenge to keep learning, growing, and strengthening your work with clients.
