July 2025 AHA Conference
Behavior Analysis
Presented By: Akeem Jones, CHt
Saturday, July 19, 2025 - Starts at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time)
This presentation with HMI Graduate, Akeem Jones, CHt, explores the art and science of Behavior Analysis and profiling in daily interactions and clinical settings.
It begins by addressing myths surrounding Behavior Analysis, then examines indirect suggestions from one’s environment that can reflect personality. Finally, it introduces nonverbal communication (body language) and presents a systematic approach to understanding how the body conveys intention in real time.
Although this is an introduction to Behavior Analysis, you won’t look at people the same again. This presentation is designed to elevate your understanding of human actions and interactions, building upon your existing knowledge.
Rewiring the Inner Child That’s Still in Charge
Presented By: Saman Nasir, CCHt
Saturday, July 19, 2025 - Starts at 11:15 AM (Pacific Time)
In this neuroscience-informed presentation, AOS Graduate, Saman Nasir, CCHt, explores how the inner child isn’t just an image or a concept, but a real set of neural survival maps encoded in the limbic system—the part of the brain that controls emotions.
Through the triune brain model, attachment theory and memory reconsolidation science, Saman breaks down what’s actually happening when clients “feel five years old” during adult conflicts and why insight alone can’t reach the parts of the brain where these reactions live.
You’ll learn how childhood imprinting affects the amygdala, hippocampus, and vagus nerve and how to detect when the inner child is running the show. You’ll gain easy-to-use tools on how to calm these areas of the brain and nervous system, while also being empowered with the knowledge to understand clients, yourself, and others better—professionally and personally.
The Soul Speaks in Symbols: Healing Beyond Words
Presented By: Jasmine Riley-Smith, CHt
Saturday, July 19, 2025 - Starts at 12:30 PM (Pacific Time)
In this presentation, HMI Grad and AOS Student, Jasmine Riley Smith, CHt, will explore how symbols emerge from the subconscious as precise, emotionally resonant messages—often invitations to deeper healing.
You’ll discover how to recognize when a symbol is present, how to stay curious without overriding its meaning, and why the client’s own imagery always holds the deepest truth. You’ll explore techniques for eliciting symbolic material, knowing when to anchor it during sessions, and supporting clients in integrating those insights into daily life.
You’ll come to trust and respect the wisdom and power of the subconscious, and learn how to partner with it—so that healing doesn’t just happen in trance, but continues long after the session ends.
