In this age of emerging realization and acceptance of the variations of sexual orientation in our society, more and more individuals are for the first time feeling the courage, drive and motivation to seek assistance with the open expression of their sexuality. This specialty certification course focuses on the ability of Hypnotherapy to assist Transgender clients and their families to find love, peace and acceptance.

Featuring Melissa Gilleece, a Transgender Hypnotherapist. This isn’t one of those seminars that just talks about the subject, you will learn from an instructor who has first hand experience with the struggles, challenges and triumphs regarding this issue. Also included in this specialty certification course are 13 hours of streaming video of three Transgender clients as they are superbly guided by Melissa through their Hypnotherapy sessions.

Transgender is an umbrella term for everyone in the community – of which there are seven basic groupings of individuals. Each group has a VERY different desired outcome.

Fascinating class and so much valuable information and insight. It gave me so much understating of this community. Melissa is a true trail blazer and this was one of the most interesting and informative classes at HMI. She has her heart in the right place, wanting to help others get through the difficult and emotionally challenging process that she experienced herself. Her own transgender status is such a small fraction of who she is. It just helps her relate to her clients and the people she helps. I think God put her in the wrong body, so that she could make the world a better place for others walking that path. They are so fortunate to have her on their side and we are so fortunate as hypnotherapists, to learn from Melissa about the issues transgenders face and how to best help them lead happy and healthy lives. So little is known in the general population about the transgender community. I am smarter as a human being, much less a therapist having taken this class. Five gold stars to Melissa!

Discovering how Melissa crafts hypnotherapy in the video was a wonderful experience. She uses Imagery a lot and I retained a lot from it. The class itself was extremely informative and interesting. After, we all know better about Transgenders and what type of population they represent. All of Melissa's clients were male subjects who went through a sex change and I personally think this is such a brave thing you can do to feel better and try to feel happier and truer to yourself. It must be very hard and difficult to make the decision and it is certainly to live with the consequences of such a dramatic change afterwards. After the class, we were able to understand what matters the most for them and how Hypnotherapy can actually be one of their best tools for getting confident and accepting their new life.

This class should really take a weekend, not a half a day. So many people in this community are suffering major injustices and we as therapists should be as educated as possible on how to help them, not just being able to describe "what" they are. I felt like we just touched the surface of what we can do and the class was over. Especially as a straight woman, I want to make sure that if I take a transgender client that I can help and not harm since I have no real experience with this client.

This course was excellent. My horizons of understanding truly expanded with what I've learned here. This was the most interesting certification course/case history series to be because of the magnitude of change and transformation as well as the courage and self-truth necessary to take this journey. I really admire the struggle and feel passionate about assisting individuals with that as well as working to make it easier and clearer for trans people in the future to be true to themselves.
