Caregivers are defined as those who help take care of people who have a limited ability to care for themselves. Caregivers include everyone from those who watch young children to people who take care of our aging population. They can be family members or those who give care for a living.

This course is wonderful and very valuable. I would have preferred one of the case studies to have been the caregiver of small children to have explored the differences between an adult caring for an aging/declining adult/parent/partner and an adult/parent caring for small children.

Great class by Lisa! Learning the difference between caretaker and caregiver was profound. I never knew there was an actual difference. This course has been eye-opening to the role I play within my own family systems. Who knew that there were even support groups out there for people who are caregivers. This information is something that I will definitely share with my family in regard to my own mother. Everything that I learned was priceless and I must say was a relief. I learned about information in this workbook that was never provided to us by doctors, nurses, medical staff, etc regarding support for the family of my mother who has suffered from Parkinson's disease for 45 years. The course is helpful to understand more about the caregivers. It would be great if other types of caregivers were presented in the case series (such as mother taking care of children with disabilities (ADHD, etc.) as both cases are somewhat similar (adult takes care of adult).
