Hi Dr. Sally, this class has addressed some of the hesitations I have towards being a biological mom. What resonated the most is what you said about women having traumatic experiences, not working through the trauma, and projecting it on other women. In my childhood, I heard these chatters in my mom's circle.

Even though I am a few years out from childbirth, this lecture resonated so deeply and made me remember my own experience with Hypnobirthing. I would love to provide these lessons to expectant mothers and in particular, the portion of the lecture surrounding women being able to share their birth story and process it in a way that could lead to more emotional healing. Myself and so many friends have had traumatic births and I feel like we would've had such different experiences with our babies if we'd given ourselves a chance to reflect and process what all we experienced. Sally is an absolute gem and I wish she could be cloned and put in every L&D ward!

Lisa, was as always, an incredible speaker and shed some much needed light on a topic that I would imagine we all navigate at some point in our lives. This lecture for me was extremely prescient as I am navigating a huge sandwich generation situation with two ailing parents, a mentally ill adult dependent sibling and my own husband and kids at home. There was such an abundance of practical and sound advice here that I even feel like I would like to watch again to really digest. I am so looking forward to working with Lisa as my mentor!

In 1980, I went into labor and was refused an ultrasound in prenatal care due to lack of insurance. Therefore we had no idea we were having twins. Well, except for intuition. After 20 hours of labor—14 hours then 6 hours hard labor—they finally were going to do a cesarean which I refused. Then, I "gave up" and had the babies vaginally. WHEW! No one asked if I wanted Lamaze classes or anything. I realized later that I was giving myself hypnosis to get through it all. I was alone without my husband or mother. Just me and my baby girls.
