Biography for Zara Nazir, CHt
Zara Nazir has been fascinated by the inner-workings of the mind from a young age. Growing up overseas, she was exposed to a variety of backgrounds, belief systems, and cultures. This chapter of her life peaked her interest in how the culmination of experience, the people around us, and who we choose to be, inevitably shapes who we are. This drove her to further her studies of the complexities of the brain and human behavior. She went on to pursue and receive a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego.
During her studies, she acquired a broad range of skills in machine learning and neural computation, brain imaging, design and interaction, linguistics, and behavioral neuroscience. She has spent most of her adult life exploring various aspects of mental health, from working with children with developmental disabilities, to researching the efficacy of online mental health resources. She went on to work with a dedicated team of researchers to investigate the ability of the subconscious mind to treat chronic pain through mindfulness. These experiences ultimately led her to her passion: working with both the conscious and subconscious mind through hypnotherapy.
After completing her residency training at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, Zara received her Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy with Honors. She now works one-on-one with clients to facilitate long lasting, positive change in their lives.
