Biography for James R. McCormack, LMFT, CMH

A resident of beautiful Kitsap County in Washington State, James is a lifelong student of mind, body, and spirit. A 20 year veteran of the US Navy it was there that he discovered he enjoyed helping people to see new ways of handling life challenges. It was these experiences that led him to pursue a post-military career in mental health and personal improvement.

Utilizing the strengths of detail orientated thinking within a highly intuitive personal style, James looks at client challenges from a collaborative, person-centered holistic and integrative perspective. James considers the integration of body, mind, emotions, relationships, and ultimate concerns as important elements towards assisting clients in reaching and maintaining their self-development goals.

While he considers all therapies to be effective for some clients, he favors hypnotherapy and neuro-linguistic counseling due to their gentle and collaborative approach to changing life-scripts in the subconscious mind.

James currently works in the area of couples counseling, family counseling, mood disorders, conflict resolution, longstanding grief or loss, fears /phobias, and values/goal clarification. James is credentialed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Hypnotherapist in Washington State, and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.
