Biography for Liandra Morningstar, CCHt

Liandra Morningstar is a highly passionate hypnotherapist with a 10-year background in social justice and community care. Her goal is not only to empower clients to grow, but to help them uncover their unique path, reclaim their inner power, and feel truly at home in themselves, their community, and the world.

The first session is 1.5–2 hours, where Liandra gets to know the client. She spends the first half of each session assessing issues, discussing goals, exploring emotions, patterns, and personal history.

She then spends the second half going into hypnosis, where she guides the client through imagery journeys, offers positive suggestions, helps shift physical and emotional states, and supports the client’s inner healing work.

If desired, she loves to include worksheets, art activities, journaling prompts, somatic exercises, rituals, and playful practices to deepen the process during and/or between sessions.

Connecting with the Self

We don’t have to be perfect to be present. When we bring compassion to the moment, it transforms everything.
Sebene Selassie

In her sessions, Liandra emphasizes the power of mindfulness and presence. By integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gestalt therapy, and other mindful mind-body techniques, she helps clients reconnect with their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This mindfulness allows clients to pause, release what holds them back, and build a stronger relationship with themselves, empowering them to create meaningful change in their lives.

Freeing the Self

Liberation isn’t something that happens only in a society, it happens in our hearts, minds, and in every breath we take.
Sylvia Rivera

Drawing from liberation psychology and her own lived experiences as a marginalized person, Liandra helps clients break free from oppressive narratives. She uncovers internalized beliefs and societal stories, empowering clients to rewrite their narratives with compassion and strength. Her goal is not to create dependency, but to equip clients with the tools, self-awareness, and empowerment they need to navigate their paths with courage and clarity.

Loving the Self

In the cracks of convention, my flowers bloom.
Tyler Knott Gregson

Liandra fosters an affirming space for those navigating alternative lifestyles, relationships, identities, and cultural experiences. She encourages radical self-acceptance, authenticity, and the cultivation of self-love. Her work focuses on helping clients honor their cultural identities while embracing their unique paths with autonomy and purpose, supporting them in cultivating radical self-love and authenticity.

Experience

Throughout the last ten years, she has led numerous trauma-informed group meditations for people in recovery, helping to create spaces for healing and safety. Through continued education, she has taken many courses on trauma, recovery, and somatic healing practices. She has also worked with many hypnotherapy clients navigating trauma and varying degrees of anxiety and depression, supporting them in managing fears, building resilience, and developing tools to face life’s challenges.

She has spent over eight years in her job as a community integration specialist helping adults with disabilities connect with others, express themselves through art and music, and achieve personal goals. As someone who is also neurodivergent, she has worked with many hypnotherapy clients with autism and ADHD, in addition to her years supporting adults with disabilities. She understands the unique challenges that come with navigating systems that weren’t designed for them. This work has deepened her empathy and shaped her ability to guide clients in overcoming obstacles, building confidence, and embracing their strengths.

As a pansexual, transgender woman, she has worked extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals to explore, accept, and celebrate their authentic selves. Her time as a crisis hotline operator for transgender people taught her the importance of listening deeply and offering tailored, compassionate support. Many of her hypnotherapy clients have been queer and/or transgender, and her personal experience navigating relationships, community, and identity allows her to provide meaningful guidance to others on similar journeys.

She brings extensive experience in navigating diverse relationship dynamics, including ethical non-monogamy and alternative partnerships. She has worked with hypnotherapy clients with unique sexualities and kinks, and nothing they could say is too "freaky" for her. Over the past three years, she has helped develop workshops on healthy, safe, and consensual kink, created support networks for sex worker safety, and guided adults of all ages and backgrounds through one-on-one sessions to explore and embrace their sexuality. With a deep understanding of human sexuality gained through years of study and hands-on work, she helps clients foster connection, confidence, and joy in their relationships and sexual expression.
