Biography for P.K. Maxx, CHt
P.K. has always been fascinated with how the mind and body work together to create the total image of who we are, how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us. Having a lifetime of body image issues really gave her the passion to pursue careers that deal with all aspects of how we connect to ourselves and others both internally and externally and how this can either create or sabotage the life we want.
Discovering hypnosis at an early age and the effects it has on the power of the mind, she began a personal lifelong journey into studying and practicing self hypnosis. This led her to eventually become certified as a professional Hypnotherapist. “Becoming a therapist allowed me to understand and help others see how our subconscious mind controls and traps us into feelings of self hatred and insecurity as well as creating habits, fears and addictions that run our lives.”
Prior to becoming a Hypnotherapist P.K. spent years as a successful Fashion Designer. The world of fashion gave her the knowledge and insight into how both men and women see themselves through the image they present to the world.
After many years as a designer, P.K. became disillusioned with how the fashion business betrayed people, especially women, by creating clothing that would only look good on people with unrealistic body types (models, actors, etc.). Her frustration led her to create a line of clothing was not only fashion forward but also slimming and flattering to fit a real woman's body.
Her “Slimfitter's line was a huge success landing her TV spots on CBS Marketwatch, Great Day Houston and A View from the Bay as well as creating huge distribution in many mail order catalogs and specialty stores throughout the United States and Canada.
As successful as her line of clothing was she felt the frustration that fashion wasn't a permanent solution to help people feel better about themselves, only a bandage. Becoming a Hypnotherapist gave P.K. The tools to work with people both internally and externally to help permanently improve their confidence, self esteem, appearance and relationship with themselves, others and the world around them in order to achieve their greatest goals and desires.
“Hypnotherapy and Fashion are actually 2 sides of the same coin. One imagines and creates a person's outer image and the other their inner image. The 2 combined can create a total holistic life transformation.”
P.K. Graduated with honors from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute and is a recipient of the prestigious Clinical Achievement Award for outstanding accomplishment during clinical residency.
